Meet Dr. Jernigan
Dr. Hugh Jernigan is a general and cosmetic dentist with over 10 years of experience. He is passionate about building relationships with patients and creating beautiful smiles. He earned a BA in Spanish Linguistics from High Point University and a BS in Health Sciences from Arizona State University. After graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2012, he completed his AEGD residency at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the SPEAR Study Club.
As a judgment-free practice, Dr. Jernigan works with patients to develop a plan that addresses all concerns and keeps them on track for exceptional long-term oral health. Having extensive experience with nervous patients, he is able to put them at ease during their dental treatment. “It is such an honor to be a part of this wonderful practice!” says Dr. Jernigan. “We have a fantastic team of professionals and are proud to continue the tradition of individualized care in a beautiful and welcoming environment.”
Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Jernigan has been living in Arizona since 2002. During his free time, he enjoys swimming, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. In addition to having two Golden Retrievers, he has studied classical piano performance for more than twenty years.
Meet Kat
Business Manager
With over 15 years in the dental industry, Kat enjoys being part of an office that values long-term relationships and treats patients like family. She strives to make every interaction a positive experience by creating a welcoming, well-organized environment where patients feel comfortable the moment they walk in the door.
Kat is originally from New Jersey but relocated with her family to trade the gray skies for the sunny days of the Valley of the Sun. She still takes every opportunity to visit the beach when she travels!
Outside of work Kat has multiple creative outlets. She enjoys painting, knitting, gardening, reading, and corresponding with pen pals around the world. Ask her about her collection of fountain pens and inks!
Kat is a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, and also “mom” to her adorable dog Bella.

Meet Candice
Dental Assistant
Candice is a dental assistant with more than 15 years of experience who earned her degree from The Bryman School of Dental Assisting. She enjoys developing relationships with patients and listening to their stories and experiences. In her opinion, lighthearted conversation can sometimes enable everyone to enjoy their day a little bit more.
“I fully understand that visiting the dentist is not everyone’s favorite activity, but I believe that I am able to offer a calm voice that allows my patients to feel comfortable and have a positive experience,” shares Candice. “It is a pleasure for me to work for Kierland Dental Studio because of the warm and welcoming feeling you get when you walk into the office. As dental professionals, we love what we do and like to have fun while doing it.”
In her spare time, Candice enjoys going to the movies with friends, spending time by the pool, and watching a good Netflix series.
Meet Erin
Registered Dental Hygienist
Erin is a highly experienced registered dental hygienist with more than 20 years of experience providing exceptional patient care. She received her AAS degree from Hudson Valley CC in Troy, New York.
Erin’s friendly, upbeat, and compassionate personality make her patients feel at ease and comfortable during their appointments. Patients appreciate her ability to listen to their concerns, address their needs, and provide gentle care that minimizes discomfort.
“I enjoy creating long-lasting, trusting relationships with our patients. I take pride in helping them achieve and maintain optimal oral health through education, preventive care, and personalized treatment plans.”
Erin is originally from Watertown, New York. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two teenagers and three dogs. She loves being on the beach and soaking up the sun.

Registered Dental Hygienist
Meghan is a registered dental hygienist with 5 years of experience and earned her credentials from Oakland CC in Highland Lakes, Michigan.
“I love getting to know our patients and growing with them over time. I enjoy the opportunity to change what some may consider a fearful situation into a comfortable and enjoyable experience.”
Patients appreciate Meghan’s dedication to providing the same level of care and services she would give her own family. She strives to create a safe and comfortable environment for her patients, ensuring they always leave with a smile.
In her free time, Meghan indulges in her creative side, painting local murals and illustrating children’s books. She also volunteers on the weekends, working with children and providing face-painting and character interactions. Meghan loves to travel, especially anywhere with water.
